Our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNP) are an important part of our provider team.
Our PNPs are Certified Lactation Consultants to assist with breastfeeding education and concerns.
We are pleased to welcome Mary Ann Pietrzyk,
our newest PNP, to the West Amherst office. She will be coordinating
visits with Dr. Michelle Manka-Black as well as providing sick care as
needed.

Inger is a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Lactation
Consultant. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and
Masters in Child Healthcare from The University of Buffalo. Since starting at Tonawanda Pediatrics in 2000 she has focused on
parent and child health education and prevention as well as promoting
breastfeeding. Inger's other special interests include child
development and assisting parents with the special needs of premature
infants. Before her start at Tonawanda Pediatrics she worked for
2 years as a neonatal intensive care nurse at both Children's Hospital
of Buffalo and Sister's of Charity in Buffalo. When not at work
Inger is involved with WNY National Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner Association as the Chapter's President for the 2003-2004 year. |

| Suzanne received
her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Keuka College and received
her Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Rochester. She has
taught in the nurse practitioner programs at both the University of Rochester
and the University of Buffalo. In 2004, Suzanne was awarded the Preceptor of the Year award from the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Buffalo.
Suzanne joined Tonawanda Pediatrics in
1988. Her special interests include nutrition, specifically breastfeeding,
and child development. Suzanne, the mother of two daughters, enjoys sailing,
running, rowing and traveling with her husband Alan.. |

Karen received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing and a Masters Degree in Child Health Nursing from State University of New York at Buffalo. She is Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She is a member of the WNY Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Association. Karen has taught in the Nursing Department at Daemen College. She has 2 daughters, enjoys piano lessons, cross country skiing and traveling. Since joining Tonawanda Pediatrics in 1987, Karen has helped parents to become confident caregivers. |

Maureen graduated from
Niagara
University
and then received her Masters Degree in Nursing from the State
University of New York at
Buffalo
.She has dual
certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner and as a lactation
consultant. Maureen joined
Tonawanda Pediatrics in 2002 and works primarily at our Island
Pediatrics location. She
is an active member of nurse practitioner associations at the local
and state levels, and she is a former president of the WNY
Breastfeeding Network. Maureen
enjoys her work with families, reading a good book, outdoor sports and
spending time with her husband and two children.

Mary Ann graduated from the State University of Buffalo school of Nursing with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and a Master in Child Health Nursing. She is a licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Mary Ann's master's project was evaluation of trends in asthma management. She is fluent in Croatian. She also enjoys roller blading, cooking, and spending time with her family. |

Barbara is a graduate of Trocaire College, D'Youville College and the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also Certified as a Lactation Consultant.
Since joining Tonawanda Pediatrics in 1995, Barbara has been involved in continuing child health education and is active in school health programs. She has been employed in the healthcare field in various nursing positions: acute and critical care, administration and education. She is an avid runner and enjoys cooking and playing the guitar. |
