About Island Pediatrics


The physicians at the Island Pediatrics’ office work as a team with the Tonawanda Pediatrics’ physicians. Twenty four hour care is available for newborns through adolescents up to age 22. We are currently accepting new patients and welcome your referrals.

Christopher Mascia, MDChristopher Mascia, MD
Dr. Mascia received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residency in pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.While at the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Mascia served as both Chief Resident and Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics. Prior to settling back in the Western New York area, Dr. Mascia worked at a pediatric practice in suburban Washington, D.C. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  

Dr. Mascia resides in Hamburg with his wife and son.

Mary Beth Lopat Winters, MDMary Beth Lopat-Winters, MD
Dr. Lopat Winters received her undergraduate and medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Buffalo and joined Tonawanda Pediatrics in 1995. Dr. Lopat Winters is Board Certified in Pediatrics. "I find it fascinating and rewarding to be part of a child's growth and development and as a Pediatrician and advocate, to be able to make a difference in a child's life." When not in the office, you can find Dr. Lopat Winters along the Niagara River swimming with her husband, Dan, and the Nickel City Masters Swim Club.
Maureen Dann, PNPMaureen Dann, PNP
Maureen graduated from Niagara University and then received her Masters Degree in Nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo .She has dual certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner and as a lactation consultant. Maureen joined Tonawanda Pediatrics in 2002 and works primarily at our Island Pediatrics location. She is an active member of nurse practitioner associations at the local and state levels, and she is a former president of the WNY Breastfeeding Network. Maureen enjoys her work with families, reading a good book, outdoor sports and spending time with her husband and two children.
